It’s been a while since I sat down at the microphone, and it’s so nice to be back. Life has been a lot lately, and I want to thank you for being so patient, and for still being here.

In past few months, I happened to read three “Sad Hot Girl” books (a phrase which tiktok, of course, created). In this episode, I investigate the Sad Hot Girl genre, what these three books have in common, and how I felt reading them.

Four months after first arriving in LA, I have now read five and a half books set here (some on purpose, some by accident).

Like many old things, the Greek myths might at first seem complicated, dull, or irrelevant, but I promise you, they are far from it.

A shallow dive (as opposed to a deep dive) into the world of historical fantasy fiction. I take you through a few of my favourite books that combine these two genres, and explore the ways in which they use fantasy to tell a story.

Another year of reading has almost come to an end, and so this episode I asked myself, I asked my family, and I asked you, the listeners, what your favourite book of the year was.
